You know the folks are ready to Minimize when you hear these

Top Seven Statements

  1. Do any of you kids want this?

  2. I can’t find anything in this drawer!

  3. I don’t use half of this stuff.

  4. I’ve got too many fill-in-the-blank.

  5. I can’t reach the blankety blank.

  6. I don’t know what I’m going to do with this.

  7. Can you open this for me?

Other telltale signs include:

Food or other items are stored in the oven.

*this means they’re not cooking anymore

Crackers and other snack packages are piling up in the waste can or recycling bin.

*see above

They’re wearing the same outfit you saw them in a week ago.

*the majority of their clothes are too difficult to put on

**or they’re unable to access the laundry area

***perhaps they can’t turn the dial on the washer or dryer

****or maybe they just don't give a damn

Their hair is plastered against their head like a shiny cone.

*often shampoo and conditioner tops are too tough to open

You notice the bottom of their shoes have worn thin.

*all the other shoes are hard to put on or too tight

**or their house shoes are so much more cozy
