Imelda Marcos you're not!

Start with your shoes, ladies!!

  1. Get a donation box.

  2. Find a bin for the shoes you want to consign.

  3. Grab a cloth and the shoe polish (and a sharpie, for those “quick fixes.”)

  4. You’ll need a notepad as well.

For those immediate decisions, toss them in the appropriate spot.

(You know the ones…got ‘em on sale and you didn’t even get thru one evening before they were off your feet and you were rubbing your toes.)

Wear the questionables shoes around for twenty minutes (the ones that you THINK may still be just slightly uncomfortable and will end up in the consignment bin anyway.)

Make choices without a backwards glance. The more you second-guess yourself, chances are you'll be doing this exercise again, never having worn those particular shoes.

If any of the above needs a shine, cleaning, touch-up - do it PRIOR to putting them in their spot.

Use the Notepad for GIVE-AWAYS; a donation value (consignment or thrift store price,) date at the top, and quick description.

Ragged shoes to “wear around the house or garden” amount to ONE PAIR!

Throw the shoes away that have no sole, holes in the toes, or are dog-eared.

Clean (mixture warm water, dash of vinegar and drop of mild dish soap) or polish your KEEPERS.

Vacuum or sweep the closet before storing your KEEP shoes.

Congrats, you can have a cup of tea or walk with the dog.

You’ve earned it!
