The bills I dole out for a cup of latte this afternoon have seen so very many hands, wallets, purses, piggy banks, cash registers, coin purses, jean pockets, sweaty fingers. Money projects both hope and fear, depending upon what side of the coin you're on.

The common exchange of money for goods or services typically goes by in a flurry. Or it can slow down time, as though you're in the dentist waiting room, biding time for a root canal.

When I get complete a project with a client, finish the job and need to head out, there is that awkward moment of discomfort. The pause. A question arises.

"Do you want a check?"

Of course! Why would you even ask?....is what I want to say....

"Just get the check, cell phone, cash out of your wallet and pay the bill!"

But the silence expands and draws attention to the fact that you NEED it.

This is your Little Self speaking, of course, the child in you that didn't get paid for babysitting the neighbor brats, washing piles of last night's dishes, laundry duty that keeps you in the basement for hours on end, weeding the vast garden and shoveling snow above your head. Life is hard. You have to work a lot for next to nothing. Life isn't fair. Money doesn't grow on trees. We don't have enough. You can't go out with your friends.

You aren't aware of those immature voices in your head. They're just there to comfort and assure you. "You have no value, no worth, don't deserve. You should be helping those poor people in Africa. "

Defend your Value. State your Worth.

Create a ritual that encourages the Giver and Receiver the respect and honor both deserve.

I look my client in the eye and declare

"May we both manifest these funds tenfold!"

They're delighted. Entranced. Engaged. Feel supported and gifted back.

It's a dream to be able to do exactly what you love to do....and being paid for it, without apology, is ever-so-much-betta!!

What routine can YOU adopt, to accept (or give) money with Grace?

Share, if you care, and comment please!!
