The Day the Earth Stood Still

When we have space, we fill it.

Cram the cabinet, cupboard, drawer, shelf, load-up the hook, hanger, nail, rod, fixture, and vessel full of stuff. It's what we do as a culture, a society, a people.

We're trying to secure our future. Just in case we need this item for a rainy day, when the other one breaks, shatters, snaps in several pieces. We have a spare. Although, the spare is the same age (or older) than the original so it's likely not going to last long, nor be the thing that supports our sense of fashion or passion.

As I encourage you to donate the excess - not be fearful of the breakage, spillage, breakdown, and have confidence you'll have what you need when you want it.

The Earth isn't going to stop spinning because you donated some stuff.

I promise you'll feel so grateful for the things you DO have and eagerly give even more when you find out the story behind the donation.

The woman who showed up to get some clothing from the Jail, got your tennis and clogs (they conveniently lost her shoes while she was incarcerated for drug trafficking - working at it only to support her family after the kids' father took off.) How do you feel when your old clodhoppers are now someone's everyday wear?

Fantastic, I assume!

Remember, on this Earth Day, you are what you give.

A a Big Heart Day!
