You can't take it with you.

I heard a little clink of metal against the door of the vehicle. My friend is transporting me to the airport, off to my grandiose vacation. Happen to glance at my right wrist. My new vintage turquoise bracelet is missing. I reach down into the crevasse between the door and the seat. There it rests, calm and waiting to be rescued.

Dumbfounded, I lay the birthday gift on the console, requesting my friend hold the exquisite piece for my return.

Although discouraged. I can’t wear my fantastic bracelet during my three weeks away, I know it was a blessing that the little ring broke off at that very moment, for me to notice and take action.

At any other time in the day, I may have lost it forever.

Thank You! Whomever is "Up There” pulling the strings, I am grateful.
