I was a guest on a radio show, "Life Simplified" last week with Bettina Blanchard. It was such a blast. Here is the link for replay:

After the show, the Producer opened the door and handed me a light violet piece of paper with a woman's name and phone number on it. You got a call from a listener during the show.
Got on the horn as soon as I pulled out of the parking ramp at USM. An excited voice gushed from the other end of the line. She thanked me for the work that I do and told me she had at least a carload full of stuff to donate. Jackets, winter coats, boots, hats, scarves, in various sizes, from her thinner self were awaiting my pick-up.
She wants to donate for GOOD.
Then she mentioned an item that made me shudder...
A full-length MINK COAT.
I envisioned myself driving around, with the preverbal THING in my trunk. The unwanted, unusable, reactionary article that I can't imagine anyone I know wearing it. It would be in the back of my vehicle for decades, weary and unstable, bullied, and trapped.
And then, Eureka! I had it.
Who better to use an animal fur than...
The Native Americans!
I'd find a way to send it to Standing Rock. When I spoke to the donor again, I mentioned my plan. She squealed like a little piggie in delight.
Could visualize a sleeping bag for a kid, boot liners, mittens, hats, moccasins, teepee insert, papoose carriers, cradleboards liner, and I don't even know what else is possible!
We're six people or less from a solution, from someone who knows someone who knows someone...who's headed to North Dakota and willing to bring a mink coat along for the ride.
Let me know who you know that knows....I'd appreciate it!
