Say Goodnight.
I've been watching comedy shows just before I go to bed.
I chortle, giggle, gaffaw, which leads to a better REM sleep. It may keep the others awake in the household, but that's their problem. They should be watching their own comedy program.
Not that long ago, I found a lot of stuff took up too much space in my brain and was TAKING OVER, as my head hit the pillow. Worries I can do "nada" about bubbled-up. Fret that needed to be taken care of in a few days or weeks seeped-in. Something said or done, THE very THING that you can't let go of, spins 'round and 'round like a dryer on the ENDLESS cycle. I tossed and turned until the sheets were in a ball.
Until I found the Comedy Connection.
Some folks are funnier than others, a few off-color, outlandish, raunchy, stellar, sweaty.
Richard Prior, Sarah Silverman, John Mulaney, Jim Gaffigan, Ali Wong, Aziz Ansari, Jimmy Carr, Michael Che, to name a few of my favs..I pop from one to the next like lifesavers. Some I chew, crunching away at the innovative crafty jokes, others I ignore, hoping something triggers the laugh mechanism. If nothing else, I can keep an eye on the crowd to absorb their reactions, which can be more humorous than the person on stage (let's face it, there are MANY more guys than ladies in the industry!)
Now, I sleep WAY bettah.
Nothing in the Can't-Do-Anything-About-IT-Now Category bothers me, like it used to.
I'm more rested.
Enjoy sliding into bed (whereas before, I dreaded it, like the first day of school after a long break or illness.)
Try it, you'll like it, Mikey!
(PSST, and pass it on!)
The only downside (if there is one) is getting BACK out of bed to take the laptop into the other room, 'cause those electro-magnetic energies are not great for your health.
(It's kinda like having to brush your teeth after an especially super great snack like Chunky Chocolate Carmel Corn!)
Love,
Paula
